How to burn more fat and lose weight faster
Monday, July 28th, 2008As a weight loss doctor, one of the most common questions that I get asked is, “How can I burn more fat?” One of the recommendations that I make is to walk more. As part of my Zindaagi Weight Loss Program, I give out the world’s greatest pedometer to encourage people to get more than 10,000 steps per day. And I find that the people who take this advise to heart and average 10,000 steps per day or higher lose more weight than those who simply diet. More importantly, when I analyze their body composition, they lose more fat than those who aren’t walking.
It’s nice to have my findings verified…
According to a new study, walking helps to burn fat. According to research published in the August, 2008 issue of Diabetes Care, people who walk over 10,000 steps per day seem to burn about 20% more fat and have better blood sugar control. Researchers used very expensive MRIs to measure body fat composition. While the Zindaagi Weight Loss Center body composition analysis isn’t as sophisticated as the MRI, it’s nice to see that the results are similar.
So what are you waiting for? Get walking and lose more fat!
